About the Organization
Practice Makes Perfect (PMP) is a full-service summer school operator that partners with K-12 schools to eliminate the summer learning loss and create high-quality, academic learning opportunities. We leverage a unique-near peer learning model to drive student outcomes. PMP was founded in 2011 at Cornell University by a first-generation college student to pay forward the blessings he received in route to attaining his college degree. Since 2011, PMP has served over 3,000 low-income children, created almost 1,000 seasonal jobs, and trained over 300 aspiring educators.
PMP has been recognized by former President Bill Clinton, Echoing Green, TED, Beespace, The Global Good Fund, Forbes 30 Under 30, Points of Light Civic Accelerator, The Global Social Benefit Institute Accelerator, The Clinton Global Initiative, The Gratitude Award Network and Hearts on Fire. Additionally, PMP’s work has been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, The Atlantic, Bloomberg, NPR, Forbes, ABC 7, NY1, Entrepreneur, and dozens of other media. In 2017, PMP was honored as Best for The World by B Lab for its impact on its customers and its governance practices. At PMP, we’re redefining summer school by making learning fun and cool. We’re at a new juncture in our growth where we are building our team to scale our services to reach even more kids across New York City and beyond. You’ll have an opportunity to work with a small, committed team that is passionate about leveling the playing field for some of our nation’s most deserving youth. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of creating long-lasting, sustainable change across our K-12 school system.
You will be part of the PMP Program team. The Program team is the heart of our company. While the rest of the team works to make our services possible, your role is to make them happen. You’ll play a role in leading the impact that we hope to see in this world.
