Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
Design and delivery of meaningful, measurable security enhancements throughout the lifecycle of our cloud applications and supporting infrastructure.
The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
You thrive on working across multiple security domains. Some core activities include threat modeling of microservices, design and refinement of web application firewall rules, and developing automation to support processes related to security and compliance. You will also have responsibilities related to incident response, CI/CD security, and security evangelism.
What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?
Security is a top priority among senior management. You and your team members are embedded resources within product teams who are expected to work with product managers and engineers to create and develop security processes and tooling, and to be the security SME for the product when interfacing with other functions within the company. Your manager will provide support and mentorship when you ask for it, but you are capable of owning your role.
Where is this role located?
Remote: This role may be performed from VMware offices, as a hybrid, or fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable, or the location agreed upon with your hiring manager.
