Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a communications professional with the desire learn and demonstrate effective account management to join its Employee and Executive Communications team in our Linthicum, MD office. Reporting to a manager of Employee Communications, the communications account representative will be primarily responsible for supporting communication campaigns related to sector and companywide business goals that inspire and motivate the workforce through creating/drafting communication content, materials and associated products. Your performance is equal to that of your leadership characteristics and, therefore, you lead with high values, integrity and ethics.
The communications account representative is also expected to provide hands-on communications expertise within their team to support internal program stakeholders with diverse audiences across multiple formats including web and social media communications, emails, newsletters, white papers, brochures, special publications, PowerPoint presentations and more. The account representative is also expected to analyze existing content or content concepts for information goals, content/document format, user needs, or inclusion in other communications channels as well as provide non-technical documentation editing, version control and data collection from a variety of sources, analyzing metrics on evaluation data.
Account representatives will also be responsible for tracking, status reporting and on-time completion of other team tasks as well as evaluating scenarios and escalating potential issues as needed.
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience managing communications projects, channels or campaigns, drafting communication content, materials and products -OR- 1 year of experience with a Master's Degree in a related field with similar communications project experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem solving, organizational skills and attention to detail.
U.S. citizenship required.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
Affinity for developing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Ability to contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals with very general supervision.
Energetic team presence with an eagerness to learn and recommend new and innovative ideas to foster strategic objectives.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Experience in Social Media applications including but not limited to, texting/SMS, Facebook, Twitter, Instragram and YouTube.
