Leidos is seeking a highly capable and experienced Systems Engineer to join the team under a prime contract to develop and field a new US Navy Autonomous Undersea Vehicle with innovative acoustic and maneuvering capabilities. Project includes complete development from requirements allocation and derivation to prototype fabrication, integration, and test leading to Low-Rate Initial Production.
This position is responsible for technical planning, requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition for a US Navy program of record.
Oversight of development, integration, verification, and validation.
Evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.
Participates in customer reviews and prepares deliverable reports and specifications in accordance with
Works to influence project/team leaders regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
Develops solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple area or disciplines.
Regularly employs ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions and systems in order to achieve functional objectives.
Education & Experience:
BS degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain
Experience with Naval, maritime, and/or military system definition, development, and delivery greatly preferred.
Desired Experience :
Familiarity with SysML modeling with IBM Rational and/or No Magic systems engineering tools or equivalent is desired.
