Job Title: Setup Operator- Fabrication
SUMMARY: Set up and operate mechanical and hydraulic press machines with tooling, including machine accessories like decoiler and feed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Set up Mechanical and Hydraulic punch press.
- Performing operation to process.
- Determine parts to be run and set up.
- Retrieve, load, and unload specified materials and parts.
- Produce parts to drawing tolerances and make adjustments as needed.
- Ensure quality and conformance to specifications.
- Advise supervisor and QC of any quality issues.
- Use safety devices as prescribed by the manufacturer or MEP.
- Perform specified preventive maintenance of equipment and tooling and assist in repairs as required.
- Responsible for ensuring the safe work habits of any associate that you assign to a job you or another setup person has set up.
- Fill out all required paperwork and train others on same.
- Responsible for detailing the quality inspection required by any associate you assign to a job that you or another setup person has set up.
- Maintain 5S responsibilities of assigned work areas
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One to two years of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE ,SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Requires ability to use English and grammar.
- Mathincludes addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, including decimals and fractions.
- Simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings specifications, schedules, and wiring diagrams, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments.
- Ability to understand and perform administrative duties of the job.
- Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized standard methods and procedures
- Moderate physical effort consisting of frequently lifting or moving average weight material, not over 50 lbs.
