**Job Summary:**
Norwood Montessori School is seeking an experienced Montessori Elementary teacher for our Montessori Elementary Classroom to start in the 2024-25 academic year. NMS has a diverse community, who are all committed to the Montessori approach of mutual respect and collaboration.
Norwood Montessori serves approximately 85 students from 18 months – 18 years! We have a Toddler Program, Three Primary Classrooms, an Elementary school, a Middle School AND a High School!
**Duties:**
We'd love to talk to you if you: ●Are Teacher Certified ● Have a Montessori diploma ● Working on Your Montessori Certificate ● Previous experience working with children ● Take pride in your work ● Are friendly with error ● Passionate about working with children.
Strong Candidates will have: ● Bachelor's Degree ● Montessori credential, ages 6–12, AMS preferred ● A strong foundation in and understanding of Montessori philosophy and pedagogy, as well as an interest in current educational research and innovative practices ● A demonstrated ability to embrace multicultural perspectives with experience building an inclusive environment and a commitment to anti-bias teaching practices.
You must be able to: ●Work collaboratively in a supportive environment ● Prepare the classroom according to the Montessori pedagogy and the needs of the children ● Working cooperatively with our staff ● Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and coworkers ● Maintain the health and safety of all students.
**Skills:**
- Experience working with elementary students
- Strong classroom management skills
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles
- Ability to provide early intervention when needed
- Proficiency in writing and communication
- Background in special education or Montessori education is a plus
- Previous tutoring experience is beneficial
