Job Description & Requirements
The Tax Senior, under general supervision, is responsible for complex projects associated with the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, the maintenance of tax records, and the preparation of tax returns and related reports.
Prepares detailed quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations in OneSource Tax Provision (OTP) software,
Advises management of financial statement impacts due to changes in applicable federal and state tax laws, rules, and regulations and accounting pronouncements,
Prepares FIN 48 calculations and maintains pertinent information within FIN 48 software,
Calculates federal book/tax differences,
Maintains documentation surrounding SOX 404 internal controls and procedures,
Prepares tax journal entries and reconciliations of all income tax accounts,
Prepares schedules to support SEC financial statement disclosures,
Performs tax research and writes technical memos,
Advises management regarding the tax impact of the Company’s strategic initiatives including M&A activities and internal operational initiatives,
Prepares and/or reviews federal, state, and local tax returns and associated extensions and estimates in OneSource Income Tax (OIT) software,
Responds to federal and state tax notices,
Trains and develops tax analysts and tax specialists,
Completes special projects as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance,
Certified Public Accountant (preferred),
Minimum of 3 years tax experience in Big 4 public accounting and/or large, public company tax department,
In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other areas related to financial reporting requirements,
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite,
Strong working knowledge of OneSource Income Tax and OneSource Tax Provision software,
Ability to analyze and solve complex problems,
Excellent verbal/written communication skills,
Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs,
Strong team player with ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines,
Skill in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail,
Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks).
