What you will do for Siemens
The Senior Business Development Manager role within the Siemens / Building Products Sales Team, is responsible for promoting sales growth in our Value Added Partner (VAP) channel through creation and execution of a Federal Sales initiative focused on our Partner Channel.
This position is tasked with growing Siemens product sales within the Federal Government vertical market. Educates Siemens Territory Managers and Value Added Partners on Federal customers, federal market potential, contract vehicles and federal opportunities. Maintains personal contact with major federal customers, general contractors, engineering and architectural firms where position status would be principal factor in a relationship. Provides federal business sales leads / opportunities to VAP's.
Provides required coaching, leadership and support to Siemens’ sales team and VAP's to successfully complete Federal project sales process. Expand trade contacts and actively participate in industry relations, trade shows, professional organizations, meetings and/or seminars to enhance customer relationships and maintain up to date knowledge. Interface and become Building Products liaison with Siemens Government Technologies in promotion of the federal market. Identify current Value Added Partners that market themselves to the federal business as well as those capable of becoming small businesses. Guide, mentor and coach them to increase Siemens’ market share. Facilitate teaming with other Small (and Large) Businesses both internal/external to the VAP network. Travel may be extensive at times due to the national scope of the position. The ability to work in a remote team setting is important, as much of what must be accomplished must be done with contributions from others.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or other related field, or have knowledge and experience background to function in this position.
10+ years sales experience with minimum 5 years of federal or other relevant experience.
Demonstrated leadership and team building skills required.
Ability to plan, navigate and negotiate a sophisticated sales process within the federal market.
Demonstrated experience with Dept. of Defense and other Federal agencies is required.
Fire industry experience strongly desired.
HVAC and Building Automation knowledge is a plus.
Strong communication skills are essential.
Requires 50% travel.
