Job Purpose:
The Drone Support is responsible for many tasks including but not limited to; Being a visual observer to the PIC (Pilot in Command), clearing space for landing, driving and maintaining equipment, using computer programs to help PIC during flight operations, and maintaining a safe work area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Always follow and help enforce safe practices and rules
- Travel to work sites and sometimes stay in hotel (Covered via company)
- Being able to use trimmers, UTV, sprayers, and other equipment needed for work site
- Using tablets and laptops on a day-to-day basis
- Lifting up to 75 lbs
- Communication with the PIC on status and possible issues
- Understanding the basics of UAVs rules and laws under the FAA.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Prior experience in Drone work would be preferred but not required. Prior experience in herbicide applications and ROW applications would be preferred but not required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or education equivalent preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Must possess physical strength and balance to lift drone, chemical, and / or batteries
- Having a PART 107 UAVs license or having the ability to obtain one
- Having an Aerial Applicator License or having the ability to obtain one
- Having a Airman Class 3 Medical Certificate or having the ability to obtain one
- Understanding of basic computer functions
- Great communication skills and use of “Closed Loop Communication”
- Knowledge of Herbicides and their application is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of SDS and use of PPE
- Understanding of Airspace Classification if preferred but not required
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
