IMANI HOUSE (IHI) Park Slope, Brooklyn New York, Seeks an Office Assistant who has some experience, learns quickly, is friendly but hard working, who enjoys the challenges of working in a busy productive and friendly office alongside the Executive Director and Program Staff.

This position offers opportunities and experiences for those interested in the fields of Nonprofit Work, Organizational Management, Social Networking and other within the areas of Youth Development, Family Support and Social Justice programming. Opportunities for Advancement are available.

NOTE: This is a part-time position that may lead to full-time. Advanced computer, social media networking and keen analytical skills are required.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Work in a busy office in an assistant capacity
  • Do general administrative duties
  • Organize files etc
  • Customer Service, scheduling, client interaction
  • Work alongside a busy Executive Director Maintain calendars, appointments and parent outreach * work with current Administrative Staff
  • Write and screen letters and other written documents
  • Support social media campaigns and promote Organizational Activities
  • Interact with walk-in public, assist those in need of information
  • Other....
  • Flexible hours and days, Start at 10-15 hrs a week

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Capable with at least 1 year administrative experience, BA preferred but not required
  • Must be Professional, Friendly, Energetic, Creative, Caring, and Patient
  • Very Good computer application, writing, and social media skills
  • Detail oriented with good organizational skills and willing to learn
  • Very good communication (written and verbal) skills required
  • Organized and able to multi-task
  • Familiar with office procedures and requirements
  • Reliable, punctual, honest, analytical and cooperative
  • Able to multitask, work independently and in a team
  • Concerned about improving the lives of marginalized youth, women and families
