Responsible for assisting the Coding department with technology issues that would prevent staff from processing services in an efficient and timely manner. Identifies and recommends performance improvement opportunities by utilizing critical thinking skills, sharing these findings with the management team which will help to improve processing and reimbursement for services rendered to patients. Acts as a liaison for the Coding department by facilitating coding IS projects. Helps to implement new coding technology.
Knowledge and skills obtained in acquiring an Associate's Degree in a Health or Business related field; or the equivalent of an additional 4 years experience in a comparable job. Bachelor's degree preferred.
RHIT, RHIA, or CPC preferred.
Must have two years experience with computer operations, systems analysis, and process improvement tools. Experience with Microsoft suite of products preferred. At least one year of previous experience in a HIM or Coding department required.
Must have excellent customer service skills. Must demonstrate a basic understanding of Local Area Networks. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work occasional evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays on an on-call status for system support.
