Position Description

The Internet Support Technician provides technical support for both internal and external customers on all levels of supported technologies. Additionally the Internet Support Technician will manage ticket queues, help develop and maintain new and existing products, assist documenting processes, procedures and installations. The Internet Support Technician must comply with established policies, procedures and overall Company Core Values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality technical support of all SupraNet services via telephone and email
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation on technical procedures and client support issues
  • Provide internal technical support for employees and contractors
  • Assist in customer installation of Web Hosting, Email, and Dedicated Servers
  • Provide system administration support for Unix and Windows servers
  • Participate in and contribute to periodic after hours scheduled maintenance and outage tasks
  • Participate in a rotation of on-call after hours support

Education and Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years IT support and/or degree in computer related field preferred
  • 1+ years installation and troubleshooting of FreeBSD/Linux, Windows and virtualization platforms
  • Exposure to networking technologies and topographies
  • Ability to problem-solve with minimal available information
  • Customer-focused mentality with a sense of urgency
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have superior organizational and documentation skills

Bonus/Nice to Have Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of service provider wireless point-to-point and point-to-multipoint hardware
  • Networking and firewall experience with Cisco IOS routers and switches
  • Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Apache, MySQL, PHP, IIS, MS Exchange, LDAP, DNS, SMTP
  • CCNA, MCSE or similar certifications
