IndraSoft, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Lab Technician who will support the Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center (NMCPHC) to provide worldwide Force Health Protection services to Naval and Joint forces in support of the National Military Strategy. The NMCPHC provides continued scientific analysis support services, which include health risk assessment, deployment health, health surveillance, population health and health information, preventive medicine, health promotion, health analysis, epidemiology and disease surveillance, industrial hygiene, occupation health and safety and environmental health.
The Lab Technician will conduct analysis in the PHC laboratory environment, supporting clinical and scientific research initiatives as directed by NMCPHC leadership and staff. Lab Technicians will support multidisciplinary investigative techniques dependent upon the research study requirements. Lab technicians will also provide recommendations on the investigative techniques, dependencies and results to ensure the highest quality information is available for further analysis and modeling. Lab technicians will be able to follow, improve and document procedures, processes and results to ensure consistent implementations and recording in advancement of the scientific studies.

Bachelor of Science in Physical Science and or related Biological Science.
2 years’ experience in Biological Research.
Experience with immunochemistry analyzers for analysis of forensic specimens in support of drugs of abuse testing.
Ability to perform all tasks required for accessioning of forensic specimens for analysis in support of drugs of abuse.
Experience in a clinical lab setting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, business analytical and problem-solving/trouble shooting skills.
Must have active Secret Security Clearance or higher and ability to maintain clearance.
Experience with the military or consulting in a DoD environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Tasks include evaluation of material and specimen submissions received from supported sites (with subject PII removed) for acceptability and preparation for forensic testing.
Performs laboratory procedures, testing, research activities, and other scientific and administrative tasks in fields such as biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, virology, bacteriology, molecular or cell biology, toxicology, or other scientific discipline.
Utilize familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field.
Follow instructions and guidelines to perform the functions of the job, including but not limited to relevant Standard Operating Procedures, national standards of research technical accuracy, and/or other written guidelines provided.
Assists in planning and accomplishing goals.
Read, understand, and executes techniques and procedures within the quality standards and timelines prescribed by the research plan.
Record all laboratory procedures and research project data, data analyses, and analytical conclusions of analyses in government-authorized notebooks and electronic systems in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.

While performing duties of the job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
