Directs, supervises, plans, organizes and conducts the day-to-day activities of the physical plant operations, maintenance, construction, and renovation, as needed for JCHCA and all its campuses.
Performs routine inspections of hospital building and grounds to determine maintenance needs and effectiveness.
Instructs maintenance personnel on the proper execution of maintenance tasks.
Reviews, implements and communicates all standards and policies as related to Joint Commission, State, and any other federal agencies.
Maintains required log books and reports.
Ensures that all documentation relating to timekeeping, preventative and corrective maintenance, and casualty prevention actions are kept current on a daily basis.
Broad knowledge of building maintenance programs and biomedical equipment, process, procedures, and codes. General commercial construction techniques, plumbing and electrical experience necessary. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings and grounds, including two years in a supervisory capacity. Knowledge of patient safety, Environmental of Care and JCAHO standards is required. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
