Data Systems Architect
Responsible for investigating existing systems and providing architectural guidance, technological recommendations, and transitions strategies for the Macom engineering data system. The Data Systems Architect will work to design and maintain large-scale data solutions that organize disparate real time data streams from globally deployed test systems for future analysis. The work will lay the foundation for data access and querying according to the business needs. Must be passionate about data and the overall related initiatives such as data quality, security, and processes. Must be comfortable with a range of database warehouse technologies and understand the benefits and tradeoffs of technical stack and design decisions. Will work with team focused on building the systems and solutions from the ground up.
Expert in relational and cloud architecture on premise databases and how to correlate data
Experience with cloud-based platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, Cloudera a plus
Data Engineer certification a plus (Google, Cloudera, Microsoft, etc)
Experience in the semiconductor industry
Able to design ETL frameworks and develop code for transferring data between sources
Experience uniting disparate legacy data sources into a unified platform for analysis and operations
Able to architect high availability, high performance systems with zero risk of data loss
Be well versed in the latest development methodologies like Agile, Scrum, DevOps and test-driven development.
Should also enable solutions that take into account APIs, security, scalability, manageability, usability, and other
Fluent in SQL and at scripting languages (Python, Java preferred)
Familiarity with SECS/GEM protocol or tool automation
Knowledge of Spark Streaming and Kafka real time stream data loads types and techniques
Knowledge of and/or experience with modern non-relational storage platforms (ie: MongoDB)
Distributed data/computing tools, e.g.: Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Talend, etc.
Working Knowledge of data ingestion using spark for supporting various file types like Json, Xml, Csv and databases
Hands on development experience to extract the data from various sources like SFTP, Amazon S3 and other cloud data sources
7+ years’ experience in a data architecture, data analysis or management role
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or related field required (Master’s degree preferred)
Proven ability to work in distributed systems
Must be able to develop creative solutions to problems
Strong analytical and creative thinking skills for effective and timely decision-making.
Strong data analysis skills – to include working knowledge of statistics, SPC, and DOE.
Strong communication skills – oral, written, and presentation.
Strong inter-personal skills and ability to motivate team members.
