As an established leader in the field of Workers' Compensation and Loss Control, MEMIC is seeking a motivated, energetic candidate to add to our successful team as a Safety Management Consultant. Our Safety Management Consultants partner and work together with policyholders to assist them in identifying key hazard exposures and promoting a safe and healthful work environment.

Identify, assess and evaluate health and safety exposures and hazards at client companies.
Making appointments and setting a schedule, physical field assessments and consultation for initial and prospective customers.
Document exposures and their control or lack thereof, providing appropriate action steps needed to improve the risk. Reports provided to agents, customers and internal uses.
Follow-up on action plans through revisits for the consultation and training process and building strong business relations.
Building positive relationships with customers, agents, and internal departments such as Claims and Underwriting through clear written and oral communications.
Adhering to Department, Company Performance Standards, and ANSI/IACET standards.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in safety or healthcare field with 5+ years of experience or equivalent education and work experience.
This position will require work with MEMIC’s healthcare policyholders. Basic healthcare knowledge is preferred. Experience with loss control consulting in healthcare, education, light manufacturing, auto dealers, and hospitality is a plus.
Designations relevant to the field specialization are preferred and strongly encouraged; i.e., RN, CSP, COHN-S, Ergonomic specialist, etc.
A proven track record of effective performance in the field of specialization is critical to the success of the consultant and the customer.
Ability to travel by car in NJ and Southern NY. At times this position will require travel to outlying states where secondary client locations are located. Occasional overnights are required.
Entrepreneurial and hands on approach.
Proven ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships.
Strong written and verbal communication is essential.
