Full Job Description
Assists in the procurement of non-stock supplies for the business unit, with emphasis on technology products. Works with other purchasing staff, sales, & sales support personnel on a daily basis. Interacts with management team and contacts vendors on an as needed basis. Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services according to company purchasing guidelines.
Sourcing: sourcing, quoting and procuring non stock and non-catalog product(s) for Staples external customers (sales, sales liaisons, customers):
Sourcing and purchasing in a concentrated category using best purchasing practices.
Service customer’s needs for product that is out of scope of Replenishment’s functionality.
Work with managers on the flow of information to Internal and External Partners.
Manage and be primary contact for product lines or customers/.
Track, expedite, and maintain open purchase orders.
Achieve departmental buyer goals and objectives..
Purchasing: work within purchasing practices and procedures for the set of vendors and product categories within their team:
Responsible for executing in a timely manner daily purchase of drop ship and FC (fulfillment center) special ordering for Staples Customers.
Use NSP front and back end systems, E-forms, etc. to release and process customer orders with appropriate vendor or sources.
Process special orders that meet vendor set dollar and case pack minimums.
Work with Managers to proactively address inactive sku’s.
Manage and review orders in HL* queues assigned daily for further action.
Support External and Internal Customers, including the Sales Team, Contract Customer Care and Vendors:
Develop and maintain positive and effective relations with Staples customers and vendors to facilitate timely and accurate processing of orders and delivered product.
Demonstrate proactive communication and customer service skills in handling all out of SLA orders and PO’s.
Work with external and internal partners to resolve billing, service and shipment issues.
Support the NSP Business Unit:
Possess a strong team building work ethic as well as foster a productive, professional work environment, supporting NSP initiatives, processes and procedures.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Cross functionally train in all areas of NSP (Solutions, Support, Furniture, Supplies and Technology).
Be a “Champion” of change demonstrate a consistent positive can-do attitude.
Special Projects as assigned.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently. Self-motivation a must.
Flexible, detail-oriented with strong organizational and information-gathering skills.
Exercise sound judgment.
Excellent Problem Solving Skills.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
Knowledge of systems: AS400, SalesForce, E-forms, Remedy, Microsoft Office Suite.
