The Role

Cypress Creek Renewables seeks a talented, organized, and highly motivated expert in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) to join the company’s Santa Monica, CA office and assist with the transformation and evolution of our enterprise GIS platform. This is an advanced position that requires 8+ years of experience building and maintaining geodatabases related to building design, construction and facility management. The position also requires experience utilizing 2D and 3D CAD software to design and model facilities, buildings, and site features.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Considerable knowledge of current technology, focused on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
  • Plan for future expansion, development, and maintenance of custom geospatial applications in support of data intelligence and data-driven decision making
  • Assist in the development of a software platform employing the most recent advancements in the integration of GIS and CAD data
  • Establish policies, procedures and standards for all information management related functions including GIS, CAD, and BIM including collection, compilation, documentation and maintenance of data developed internally as well as provided by external vendors providing services for surveys, studies, design and construction
  • Interface with market leads and design solutions to employ geo-spatial data and analysis to advance development opportunities and meet business needs
  • Research, acquire, catalog, query and disseminate geographic data to end users, GIS Analysts and GIS Technicians within specified deadlines
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide GIS databases
  • Administration and management of GIS servers, geodatabases, and CAD files
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Master’s degree in GIS, Geographic Information Science and Technology, Geospatial Information Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in geospatial applications, managing geodatabases
  • Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP)
  • Project management, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team and take the initiative to follow up as needed
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • ArcGIS 10.X, Arc Server, ArcGIS Online, Python, SQL, ESRI ArcGIS JS API
  • AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infraworks, Revit, 3DS Max, Navisworks
  • Proficiency in Adobe suite – Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Acrobat Pro
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, Access
  • Passion for solar development and thirst to learn
