Part-time Employer Support Specialist

Job Description:
Engage employers to recruit Lakeland students and alumni for jobs and internship opportunities by promoting the use of Lakeland's online job board system, on-campus recruiting events and other talent acquisition services. Coordinate employer recruitment events. Collaborate with Employer Relations Coordinator. Have a strong, persistent desire and proven ability to provide exceptional, customized customer service and retain customer's "business".

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement many strategic, creative and proactive methods of mass, targeted and personalized marketing to employers to engage them to utilize Career Services' various employer services for their workforce recruitment needs routinely.

Create and use strategies such as social media, email, phone, electronic newsletter, digital and hard copy materials, and other communication methods.

Coordinate semi-annual seasonal job fairs and on-campus individualized recruitment tables for employers. Work with Employer Relations Coordinator to plan, recruit, vet and communicate with participating employers. Handle administrative and bookkeeping duties associated with the implementation of these events. Respond to employers' requests for basic recruitment needs, information and procedural policies, as well as providing assistance to use the Career Services online job board.

Develop technical expertise for the employer administrative side of Career Services' online job board, including but not limited to: proficiency using the employer registration process and job posting options; implementing the job board communication system; gathering and reporting data to improve processes and reach goals, etc.

Maintain detailed contact management databases of businesses and organizations who have utilized our services.

Collect, track and use data and information to track job opportunities developed, students hired, best practices, etc. to create new and improve current services and outcomes. Provide monthly reports to Director.

Assist with front desk duties: schedules appointments, provides information about Career Services and assesses clients' needs to provide empathetic support.

Assist student worker to find and post job opportunities for Lakeland students and alumni on the online job board.

Maintains up-to-date, thorough knowledge of all Lakeland curricula and Lakeland students' employment goals, as well as regional employer and industry needs and trends.

Assist with Career Services team events and services as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: MINIMUM Associate's degree in business, communications or a relevant discipline. One year of relevant experience creating and implementing strategic methods to promote services or personnel to professional level customers. Experience and proven ability to provide exceptional, empathetic customer service.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business, communications or a relevant discipline. Experience promoting and providing services to hiring and talent acquisition professionals. Prior experience as a staffing service agent, a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
Lakeland's curricula, demographics of students, and employer customers, as well as a college career services center's mission and activities.

The nature of community colleges in relation to a regional workforce.

The consultative selling approach.

Marketing and advertising strategies to promote a service or personnel.

Skills

Professional, accurate, persuasive and personable oral and written communication skills; comfortable speaking with and assisting strangers and "cold calling."

Detail and process-oriented with a high level of organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Critical and creative thinking; investigation; assessment leading to appropriate problem solving solutions and actions.

Event planning, coordination and handling of administrative details.

Recordkeeping, bookkeeping, data tracking and data analysis.

Advanced level of proficiency using Word, Excel, internet search, online job boards and CRM system (ACT).

Respect protocols and standards but be creative and flexible.

Physical Activity Level

Light - Sit sometimes, walk and stand sometimes, lift occasionally.

COMPENSATION: This is a part-time (1,508 hours per year) staff position with a minimum starting rate of $17.26/hr. with non-medical college benefits. Non-medical benefits include pro-rated tuition waiver, paid holidays, vacation, personal days and accrual of sick hours.
