The Marketing and Communications Manager reports to and works closely with Executive Director to develop programming and to market STAA in the community.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Marketing and design of publications and collateral; social media management; back end website management; press releases; event production.

MARKETING

-Creation of all in-house marketing materials utilizing Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop,Illustrator, In-Design, etc) to create programs including exhibition postcards and banners, event brochures, education posters, various flyers, community and fundraising event designs.

SOCIAL MEDIA

-Uploads current information and reporting to STAA Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages regarding all events, exhibits, activities, and educational programs.

WEBSITE

-Utilizes Wordpress to edit, maintain, and upload latest content, images, forms etc. to server. Updates and maintains website on a regular basis.

PUBLICATIONS

-Creates all E-NEWS, monthly email, and as needed maintains a consistent image and branding with website (includes copy/content/layout/design).

PRESS RELEASES

-Compose and submit press releases as well as Monthly, Bi-Monthly, and Quarterly Calendar Event listings to parish and state tourism offices, Parish Cultural Affairs, Inside Northside, Edge of the Lake, Sophisticated Woman, The Times Picayune, The Advocate, St. Tammany Farmer and and other publications as requested.

EVENTS

-Works with Executive Director and Education & Events Coordinator to coordinate and execute events including Spring for Art, Fall for Art, seasonal Covington Art Markets, Exhibitions and other special events.

We are a community based non-profit whose mission is to expand the arts to the public, showcase local artists, provide youth and adult art education opportunities and help the citizens of St. Tammany enjoy the beauty of art in all its forms. We value art and artists alike.

This is a part time position with 32 hours per week. Occasional nights and weekends required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications or design
  • Three years professional public relations, marketing or design experience, preferably in an arts or non-profit setting.
  • Proficient in design utilizing Adobe Creative Suite on a PC Platform
  • Excellent writing skills/press releases
