Work hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 40 hours/week

As a Game Lands Maintenance Worker you will perform habitat work such as border cuts, browse cuts, hedgerow and shrub pruning and mowing, fruit tree pruning and daylighting, and seedling planting and distribution. Identifies proper woody plants and safely uses chainsaws, hand tools, power tools, tractors and attachments, bulldozers, and other equipment.

Maintains, develops, and/or re-establishes boundary lines on State Game Lands, administrative areas, and other lands under agreement as directed by supervising personnel. Safely and competently uses chainsaws, brush-cutters, pruning equipment, paint
sprayers, GPS units and surveying equipment, power and hand tools, etc. Properly maintains appropriate records.

Performs all habitat management related duties such as streambank fencing, wetland restoration, grassland restoration, food plots, agricultural practices, water level manipulations, nuisance and/or invasive species control, planting seedlings, nesting/roosting box development, and maintenance, etc. Safely and competently uses heavy equipment, hand and power tools, motorized equipment, etc.

Operates, maintains, and repairs motorized equipment and vehicles in a safe and competent manner.

Constructs, develops, and maintains infrastructure, facilities, and resource areas; using various carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, landscaping, mechanical, and welding tools on State Game Lands, administrative areas, or other lands under agreement.

Utilizes various cleaning products, lubricants, preservatives, chemicals, and solvents in the execution of these duties. Examples of infrastructure, facilities and resource areas include: buildings, roads, water impoundments and control devices, fences, gates, signs,
boundaries, parking areas, bridges, drain culverts and tile, trails (e.g. snowmobile, hunter access, horse/bike, disabled hunter ATV), etc.

Posts and maintains informational signs on State Game Lands, administrative, lands, and other lands under agreement.

One year of laboring experience using construction tools and equipment;
One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment;
One year of construction equipment operation experience;


An equivalent combination of experience and training.

All positions require possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
All positions are required to obtain an active Class A Commercial Driver's License within one year of employment in this job.
