Where We Began
Reed Construction was established by Thomas Reed in 1893, the year of the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Since our inception, we have provided owners, developers and facility managers with high-quality construction solutions.
Today our firm, led by fifth generation President and CEO William T. Birck, is a full-service construction firm with extensive expertise in general contracting and design-build. Reed Construction remains committed to our original core values, which are best exemplified by our steadfast dedication to quality workmanship, professional management and ethical conduct.
The Project Accountant will work with the Project Management team to collect necessary data to process billings on a monthly basis.
Prepare monthly invoice packages for all billable projects, including all applicable backup (up to 40 invoices in one month). Maintain the billing folders for all projects with the appropriate documents, including monthly invoices and waivers. Setup new projects in Job Cost and the necessary spreadsheets on a daily basis. Track outstanding receivables and make the required calls to collect. Prepare job cost reports as requested from the project management team. Track outstanding accounts payable per project. Prepare monthly job cost on closed projects. Complete the WIP on a quarterly basis. Run monthly accounting meeting with your project management team to review upcoming billings/projections. Review owner contracts as needed to prepare for the requirements for each individual client. Perform additional assignments, as directed by Controller
QUALIFICATIONS / KSAs
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness. Customer/ client focused. Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Keen critical thinking ability and problem-solving skills. Strong communicator – both verbally and in writing.
- Takes initiative; goes beyond assigned duties. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Sage (Timberline) (not required but preferred).
- High school diploma required
- 1+ years' Construction Project Accounting
- Experience with Pay Applications
- Billing Collections Experience
This is a in-office, full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5 pm with lunch from 12pm to 1pm.
