As a member of the Senior Leadership Team at an Oasis day camp, the Program Director is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of the daily, weekly, and summer-long camp schedule. The Program Director will be responsible for the development of all site-specific programming, as well as the supervision of the entire program staff.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Demonstrated experience in camp programming, curriculum development, or education administration
- RTE/CPR certifications
- Teaching/coaching experience
- Supervisory experience
This position requires a significant time commitment prior to the start of camp and general staff orientation. Drafting and implementing the camp schedule requires a strong work-ethic and sharp attention to detail. This will be a fluid and flexible process, and will be adjusted on a daily basis due to uncontrollable factors such as weather. The quality of all camp programs and special events rely on how structured each day/week is, and the scheduling element of this position is handled by the Program Director in conjunction with the Camp Director and Senior Leadership Team.
Supervision of Program Instructors- 20%
The Program Director will be responsible for training, supervising, and evaluating the Program Instructors at their camp, and will be involved in the planning of their respective activities throughout the course of the summer.
Communication with Senior Leadership Team- 20%
Along with the Camp Director and Operations Director, the Program Director will be a crucial part of the camp's Leadership team, and will participate in morning meetings, debriefs, and site-specific planning on a grand scale. Communication throughout the summer is also imperative, and the Program Director's ability to work with the other two Senior Leadership members is a critical element of this position.
Participate in Training- 10%
Prior to the start of the summer, all staff must participate in a four-day training program, as well as periodic in-camp trainings throughout the summer. Additionally, Program Directors will be responsible for leading certain on-site training sessions, as well as participating in additional Leadership Training sessions prior to the all-staff orientation.
