Summary

The Social Media and Content Manager plays a key role on the marketing team of the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) driving the planning and execution of social media/PR initiatives that promote and elevate ASCM’s visibility. This position serves as the primary digital content producer, ensuring content to many different audiences is accurate, compelling and can also be used for media relations purposes. The manager will be a self-starter able to work with the Director of Communications & Content and creative team to produce a variety of assets including videos, podcasts, blog posts, case studies, reports, contributed articles, infographics, GIFs and more.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in English, journalism, communications, or related field, from an accredited university
  • 4+ years in corporate, association or agency marketing/public relations/social media

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Manage ASCM’s day-to-day social media presence across several channels (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.),
  • Develop and manage a regular social media communications rhythm and editorial calendar including but not limited to: product launches, announcements, demand-generation campaigns, news/press/media amplification, industry articles, analyst reports, videos, thought leadership content, benchmarks, and events – aligned to ASCM’s corporate initiatives and communications pillars
  • Monitor and stays abreast of industry trends and relevant conversations – uncover new ways for ASCM to lead and contribute to trending conversations using research and thought leadership insights to drive and influence content creation direction
  • Conceptualize, create and produce content for a variety of formats including web, video, podcasts, infographics, blog posts, emails and more
  • Manage quarterly, monthly and weekly social media analytics dashboards and uses that data to refine strategies and tactics
  • Attend strategic events to amplify real-time new, announcements and launches via social channels a) to members, media, industry experts, partners and influencers
  • Manage comments that come in via social channels and work with appropriate team members to engage in thoughtful conversation where appropriate
  • Develop social media templates and best practices to share with chapters and partners to improve consistency, amplification and overall reach
  • Monitor evolving social media trends and best practices for continuous improvement
  • Develop and implement an ASCM employee and member social media advocacy program – enabling and recognizing them for their contributions
  • Edit ASCM online publications content, including magazine and blog
  • Coordinate, schedule, and host quarterly online webinars
  • Using HTML tools, build and route regular newsletters and other emails that reach member and customer base of approximately 50,000
  • Interview subject matter experts and write related articles in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong writing and verbal communication skills

Experience managing website content using a content management system, Episerver preferred

Experience working with e-mail marketing systems, Marketo preferred

Proficiency with social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Sprinklr) and social listening/analytics platforms (e.g. Radian6, SimplyMeasured)

Solid writing/editing skills with flawless spelling and grammar

An insatiable hunger for and understanding of social media and traditional media

Basic knowledge of design, Adobe Photoshop preferred

Basic level of video editing and GIF creation

Knowledgeable about trends in multimedia storytelling. Ability to produce digital content quickly and accurately

Well-versed in AP Style writing AP Style

Motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail

Strategic thinking, project management and planning skills. Ability to manage and prioritize communications needs, perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines in a timely manner while maintaining professionalism and product quality

Stays current and assesses industry and social media trends, tools, new platforms, innovations, and best practices

Salary: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year
