Job Description
Washington Gas is seeking a Paving Liaison to join our Permits and Paving team! The Paving Liaison works with and assists Senior Paving Liaisons in making site visits and aiding in the timely completion of paving projects and accurate recording. The Paving Liaison is responsible for the coordination of work with permitting agencies, agency inspectors, Washington Gas construction supervisors, paving contractors, and others to resolve restoration issues and permitting problems.
You Will:
Aid in the research and distribution of complaints to the correct department and see paving related issues through to resolution.
Complete WICS reports (paving backlog) and makes site visits
Audit contractor pay approvals for the correctness and jurisdictional requirements through site visits.
Mark paving limits per jurisdictional specifications as required.
Conduct contractor audits through regular site visits and documents using the appropriate forms. Take corrective actions as necessary.
Attend construction workload and contractor workload meetings.
Provide paving information for BCA tracking.
Attend jurisdictional meetings and build jurisdictional relationships through regular contact.
Work closely with paving contractors for timely paving of backlog and priority cuts.
Complete other duties as assigned.
You Have:
High School Diploma/GED required.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license upon hire.
2+ years of related construction fieldwork experience required. Experience in paving is preferred.
Working knowledge of ARM, AppXtender, SmallWorld, and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of VDOT, SHA, and/or DDOT paving specifications is preferred.
Experience with various types of utility-related pavement repairs and ability to distinguish Washington Gas-related paving work from that of other utilities preferred.
Demonstrated ability to read and understand Miss Utility Marks for underground facilities to resolve issues with the jurisdiction’s inspectors as required.
Ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office, for data management, research, analysis, and reporting purposes. Demonstrated ability to use basic math with percentages and decimals.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
Demonstrated ability to verbally communicate complex information concisely and effectively to diverse audiences.
Proven ability to establish strong working relationships with external and internal audiences to effectively carry out work responsibilities
