Purpose:
The Application Architect/Principal IT Systems Developer is responsible for providing a very high degree of technical knowledge in application systems development and provides technical consultative advice and instruction to departmental and non-departmental personnel. This position is responsible for participating in the design, development, testing, and documentation of complex application business solutions. This position is also responsible for serving as the architectural application owner for a department or specific applications set.

Responsibilities:
Review architecture and production of domain-specific architectural solutions
Assist management in making strategic decisions regarding software and hardware use. Participate in early stages of large project development to ensure consistent approaches in technical designs across projects / programs
Approve, review, and own process of delivery plans for all application business solutions
Maintain and monitor adherence to architecture, design, and coding principles
Research and recommend continuous improvement solutions where technology can be better used within overall systems environments
Provide thought leadership and champion for software development best practices
Participate in staffing plans to identify subject matter experts (SMEs) and provide feedback for staff performance reviews
Own application(s) within area, including proactive monitoring and communication of overall health and future sustainability
Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related area of study, or equivalent combination or education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
10 years extensive technical experience in variety of application development or package software implementations including deep technical expertise with IBM InfoSphere DataStage tool suite in support of ETL applications including DB2 and Unix environments
Proven experience of ongoing education in regards to technology tends within software development and support
Proven experience with multiple development and support methodologies
Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Computer Engineering
Experience working in environment with regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, etc.)
Previous experience in PBM / health care industry

Minimum Physical Job Requirements:
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and shifts outside of Prime’s core business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as needed for technical support and/or project needs
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear
Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
