General Description

Under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), the Compliance & Privacy Specialist is responsible to provide support to Parrish Healthcare Compliance and HIPAA Privacy Office in the areas of regulatory compliance and HIPAA Privacy; compliance and privacy auditing, risk assessments, investigations, education and training; coordinate government and non-government compliance and privacy activities and assist with administering the policy and contract management programs. Discreetly work with confidential and highly sensitive information. Compliance and privacy contact and resource to all levels of staff. Routine daytime travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Conducts comprehensive compliance and HIPAA Privacy research, risk assessment, auditing, monitoring, and investigations, documenting and communicating reports in accordance with the Corporate Compliance Office guidelines.

Receives and coordinates reported confidential compliance concerns. Conducts highly sensitive compliance and HIPAA Privacy investigations and with identifying education and means to mitigate risks and errors. Manages compliance and privacy incident tracking system.

Coordinates and manages Parrish Healthcare (PH) compliance audits (government, non-government, and consultants) with department compliance liaisons. Assists with conducting periodic assessments and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Manages compliance audit and investigation management information systems.

Performs research, development, and presentation of materials for compliance and HIPAA Privacy education and training regarding federal and state regulations and guidelines and compliance policies.

Assists to administer the PH policy administration program, contract administration program and the secure texting program. Ensure programs promote consistency in policy and contract processing standards. Educate and train care partners on use of policy and contract management systems.

Formal Education

Bachelor's Degree - healthcare or business program (at management's discretion, Associate's Degree or equivalent hours and actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree)

Work Experience

Minimum of two (2) years healthcare experience in business or clinical related discipline

Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC). Required to obtain within two years of employment as Compliance and Privacy Specialist.
