SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Berlitz Kids & Teens Instruction Specialist assures the quality of our customer relationships (both internal and external) and program delivery by managing expectations with the aim of achieving long staying, loyal customers and employees. Work with Berlitz Kids Coordinators to manage student progress through close supervision of program content and systematic interaction with instructors. Manage the training and retention of Kids & Teens instructors. Build and lead the instructional team to ensure delivery of high quality Kids & Teens programs.
Be responsible for developing a best in class curricula and support materials for the North America market. Research programs, new technology, and competitor programs to identify new curricula direction and potential partnerships. Responsibilities here include research and analysis.
Support the Kids & Teens operations in day to day support of language centers and franchisees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructor Training and Development
Responsible for supporting the recruiting of Kids & Teens instructors and on-boarding process of instructors for the Learning Center(s). Support the Academic Specialists to ensure that they track and maintain instructor staffing levels. Communicate with Academic Specialists on kids recruitment needs.
Facilitate and/or coordinate Kids & Teens instructor trainings and deliver these as required following appropriate guidelines. Communicate with Academic Specialists and Kids Coordinators to coordinate regular Kids & Teens trainings across North America.
Plan and conduct Kids & Teens instructor training to meet the other NA requirements (i.e. training for Franchise instructors; online refresher trainings.)
Make recommendations for Kids & Teens materials and programs; update kid’s materials list and resources.
Keep the Instructional Team informed about Berlitz Kids & Teens, the business, and the instruction market.
Product Research and Project Management
Make yourself aware of current and future trends in Kids & Teens language instruction. Produce consumable information that can lead to product direction and possible partnerships.
Lead product development and curriculum adaptation projects, including student books, instructors’ manuals and additional required components for non-English products.
Create and/or facilitate creation of required supplementary resources, such as Operations Manuals and lesson plans for customized programs (summer camp, global citizens, Girl Scouts.)
Support NA Kids Operations
Coordinate and/or facilitate Kids & Teens Operations trainings for NA staff as required.
Coordinate and/or facilitate Kids & Teens Operations trainings to meet the other NA requirements (e.g., assist with Franchise Operations trainings and other initiatives as required).
Assist LC staff with delivery and renewal of Kids & Teens programs.
Ensure implementation of minimum standards as they relate to Kids & Teens.
Attend online meetings, open houses, conventions, etc to promote kids’ products and sales.
Perform tasks in support of Berlitz Kids business as may be assigned from time to time by the Manager of Berlitz Kids & Teens NA.
Reports To: Countrt Manager of Instructions
Supervises: Berlitz Kids Coordinators
Education: Four-year degree or equivalent experience
2 years minimum instructional experience with Kids/Teens Foreign Language programs in a school setting
Expierence in K-8 school programs preferred
Working knowledge of MS programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Internet
Fluent English and at least one other language
Be flexible in working hours
Be able to take initiative and work independently
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
