This incumbent will be responsible for the accounting and financial processes of designated Canadian STRATACACHE entities, and will assure compliance with Canadian tax laws, GAAP, corporate and company standards. This position is based within the STRATACACHE Corporate Finance Department and will work closely with both Corporate Finance and identified businesses to ensure exceptional support, service, and best practices.
Investigates and resolves any accounting issues within area of responsibility. Maintains general ledger accounts. Monitors accounts payables and receivables to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payments, collections, and reporting.
Prepares, analyzes, and reviews consolidated financial statements using accounting principles to determine present and future financial performance. Reviews financial statements and other reports for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
Assists with monthly closing process for both domestic and international operating entities.
Assists Controller in review of Annual Budget and monthly cash forecasts.
Assists in the development of accounting policies and procedures. Keeps records of account entries by compiling and analyzing accounting activities. Coordinates accounting matters with other departments.
Assist external CPA firm in filing tax return and financial review.
Maintain fixed asset schedules; including processing acquisitions, disposals, running depreciation reports and other transactions in FAR.
Perform other duties as requested
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required
5+ years of direct accounting experience required
Experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, and Salesforce preferred.
Understanding of data analysis and forecasting required.
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Sales and Use Tax laws, and other government reporting requirements required; Knowledge of Canadian tax laws desired but not required
Strong analytical, technological, and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills; Proficiency in French (verbal and written) is desired
Attention to detail and reliability in checking own work for accuracy.
