The UI/UX Design COE Lead sets the journey standards to ensure user-centered design solutions that feature ease of use, employ best-in-class interaction design, and optimize the user experience. They are chief collaborators with the business, technical, and product leaders to understand the vision, objectives, and transformation plans to help identify opportunities for competitive advantage. The UI/UX Design COE Lead is hands-on, active problem solver and the visionary force behind the journey design and strong influencer of the technical solution to achieve an exceptional customer-centered outcome.
Help teams define and shape the experience strategy, facilitating work sessions with stakeholders, partner with the Community of Practice (CoP) and users to define key design goals and requirements.
Guide designers on design strategy related to research insights, execution, continuous integration, and automated deployment
Engaging with delivery of work, where the work occurs to help empower and provide the right tools to deliver sprint goals
Mentor and coach the design teams, specifically with new ways of working and mapping strategy to execution
Identify and remove team impediments
Work with CPO and POs to align the roadmap to vision and continuous insights to ensure voice of the customer is heard
Constantly look for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not afraid to challenge the status quo
Attend events and sessions, promoting customer focus, and being visible at town hall events.
Synchronizing customer research and map customer journeys for the constituent across teams
Synthesize customer insights across research by each team at the journey level
Ability to direct clear and creative artifacts (e.g., task flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes to guide consistency across teams)
Seasoned design expertise with deep insight into newest methods, trends, and design operations
Significant experience driving design outcomes in an Agile infrastructure, environments, and deployment strategies
Can make design decisions at a team and product level
Experience working on projects that span multiple organizations and business units
Experience in Agile Development as a designer
Understands relationship between Product Owner, Scrum Master, and rest of the team, with a strong sense of design thinking
Experience managing design priorities within the backlog
Strong communication skills with ability to align the organization on complex product decisions while advocating the voice of the customer
Active coach and mentor whose goals are to grow and maximize the team’s potential

Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, engineering, or related field
Certification in Human Centered Design methodology is strongly desired.
Agile/Scrum/SAFe certification is strongly desired.
10+ years’ experience solving complex communication problems and designing world-class experiences for mid to large-scale clients.
Strong portfolio of work demonstrating experience leading/managing the design of complex systems across multiple digital platforms.
Extensive design software knowledge with the ability to design and deliver optimized workflows, interactive web designs, and all related deliverables, including but not limited to experience with Microsoft Office, Multi-variant testing solutions and Content Management Systems (CMS - Drupal preferred), Sketch / InVision / Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, etc.
Proven ability to support design teams and lead a project from concept to completion.
Expert at using data (both quantitative and qualitative) to inform design.
This position can be located remotely within the US, except for Colorado.
