Member Program Manager
Join a small committed and experienced team of association executives to manage and run CPCU Society programs in order to meet member needs. The Member Program Manager is primarily responsible for developing, advancing and enhancing educational, networking, and career development opportunities for the CPCU Society’s nearly 20,000 members. This includes but is not limited to managing 14 Interest Groups, their committees and programs; Insights, the society’s technical publication; webinars; annual Reinsurance Symposium; and the annual meeting student program.
The Member Program Manager will have skills in time management, project organization, problem-solving, relationship building and team building. S/he will also be comfortable working in a cross department team and environment and have a go-getter attitude.
Communicates value proposition to existing and prospective members
Critically evaluate current programs make recommendations for change as needed. Explore and implement new delivery methods for education and networking, both virtually and in-person.
Develops strategies and executes activities to improve member experience
Lead cross-departmental and volunteer teams, which may include webinar, publications, mentoring, student or other education-focused programs as determined, in order to:
Strategically plan future initiatives to align with member needs.
Identify and meet content and program goals and metrics.
Regularly review and improve content delivery methods and processes.
Keep programs on the forefront of insurance industry trends, topics, and news.
Staff liaison to volunteer committees, task forces, and interest groups. Guide groups in meeting annual strategic goals, fulfilling group missions, and monitoring budget expenditures.
Work with department staff to ensure alignment in member communications. This includes promotion of educational and networking programs, value proposition, welcome and renewal notices across web, social media, e-mail, print and other distribution and marketing platforms.
Execute dues billing process in collaboration with senior staff.
Maintain and enhance Career Center. This includes working with chapters and recommending pricing.
Monitor and develop strategies to increase member engagement.
Review, prepare, and present program reports/updates/presentations as needed both internally and externally, including Leadership Summit volunteer training sessions.
To strengthen the society’s value proposition and grow membership, keep abreast of learning, education and networking trends both across the insurance industry and the association world.
Proactively participate in Annual Meeting, Leadership Summit, symposia, workshop and other enterprise teams to manage the development of education and content that leads to growth.
Travel to Annual Meeting, Leadership Summit, and other programs as necessary. Ensure successful onsite execution of events alongside events team.
Organize and execute prospect outreach and leverages database to manage prospect pipeline
Work with volunteers and internal staff teams on creation of content, collateral and messaging designed to communication and deliver value proposition
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required
3-5 years’ experience in program development, education, insurance, and/or association management
General awareness of emerging trends impacting insurance professionals
Works well within a team environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, customer management systems, website platforms, social media platforms. Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
