TITLE: Principal Data Science
DUTIES: Discover Products Inc. seeks Principal Data Science (multiple positions) in Riverwoods, IL to provide thought leadership and strategic thinking to solve business problems by leveraging techniques such as segmentation optimization, advanced analytics and machine learning. Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to ensure goals are met and course correct as necessary. Provide thought leadership and strategic thinking to translate business problem into analytical frameworks. Independently recommend actions and provide business insights. Operate as a subject matter expert on statistical analysis, test and design of experiment, analysis methodology, modeling and application and impact analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand their business needs. Formulate and complete end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled deliverables and presentations. Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information. Consistently follow standard work processes and documentation requirements and recommend improvement to work processes to increase efficiency while maintaining quality of work. Promote a risk aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering (any), Analytics or related field, and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in job offered or related occupation: providing analytical support to identify opportunities, develop strategies, improve targeting segmentation and support management decision making; interpreting analysis results to formulate business recommendations; utilizing technologies including SQL, SAS and Excel to extract, consolidate and analyze data from multiple sources; and utilizing technologies including Teradata and Unix. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree and four (4) years of experience in the above listed skills.
