POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist Youth & Government team with all aspects of preparing for the Youth & Government program. Will assist with student and advisor communications; Youth & Government events and conferences and on-going preparation for the Youth & Government Legislative Conference. Will assist with the gathering of resources; printing; copying and other administrative tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Learn the details of Youth & Government and recruit potential participants
Set up and take down of Youth & Government fair and open house tables
Good oral and written/computer communication skills
Enthusiastic, able to engage with others via phone and in person to recruit participants and volunteers
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with all other employees and to assist courteously and promptly
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion with minimum instructions
Manage multiple tasks in an independent and face-paced team environment
Attend all training and marketing events
Attend Training Conference, Pre-Legislative Conference and Annapolis Legislative Conference
Contact participants and advisors and assist with the generation of newsletters
Must be able to assist with purchasing of resources
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to different locations as needed.
All other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Travel to various locations throughout Central Maryland

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physically able to successfully complete required job functions, including use of hands, arms, fingers, able to talk and hear, use a computer, sit and stand, regularly move/lift up to 50 pounds, enter all YMCA environments (office spaces, indoor and outdoor maintenance/mechanical areas, fitness areas, pool and pool space, camping areas, unimproved outdoor locations and other program areas).
