This position is in the Human Resources Department and performs benefits and pension calculations for active Metro employees. This position also performs professional related HR responsibilities in support of a central HR program by performing duties and answering inquiries based on established policy, procedure, and practice.

Responsible for understanding Metro's benefit system – knowing the benefits that Metro offers and requirements to participate in Metro's benefit system
Calculating disability, service, and early service pensions
Handling connections of service and terminated vested calculations
Entering data into Oracle R12 system and the Oracle PeopleSoft calculation system
Handling intake calls from individuals wanting to apply for pension
Assisting with pension enrollment/training meetings if needed
Assisting in handling death benefit claims - both pension and life insurance
Applying connection of service for breaks in Metro employment history
Answering plan-related questions via telephone, email, and/or written correspondence from employees, retirees department representatives
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and one year of professional HR experience. Valid Driver License may be required for some positions.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in a finance, benefit and/or technical field
Experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft products, MS Products or other HR related systems
Knowledge of defined benefit system and/or the Metro Code and Charter
