The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking experienced Hardware Design Engineers to design the next generation of our cloud server platforms. Our success depends on our world-class server infrastructure; we’re handling massive scale and rapid integration of emergent technologies, where we will rely on this Milwaukee design group to build the servers for the North American market. With an entrepreneurial spirit, we are building the engineering organization from the ground up - define efficient business processes, get the tools you always wanted, and create the culture of the company you wished you worked at.

Responsibilities

The Layout Engineer is responsible for designing printed circuit boards based on the schematics captured by the Electrical Engineers. The layout engineer must be familiar with the various PCB materials available, flammability ratings, impedance characteristics of the different materials, etc. The layout engineer works closely with the mechanical engineer to get outside PCB dimensions, height restricted areas, keep out areas and mounting hole locations. The layout engineer works with the PCA factory manufacturing engineer to resolve Design for Manufacturing and Design for Test issues.

You must be a team player capable of working across multiple function teams to ensure delivery of successful products. As one of the first on this team, we are looking for experienced talented professionals with the following skills and abilities:

Printed Circuit Board design ownership
DFx problem resolution
Component library creation
Knowledge of Electronics manufacturing methods
Exchange layout files with the customer and TPE/China teams
Role Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or technical certification with 3+ years CAE systems experience (Cadence Allegro)
1 - 3 years of experience
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to evaluate the long term implications and consequences of potential solutions
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team to contribute ideas and insights into project decisions
Strong verbal and written communication skills required for sharing ideas with other departments and the customer
Office-based role, fast-paced work environment
Travel - Approximately 15% including international travel.
