Our firm is seeking an Apprentice Carpenter to help us create custom structural wood products. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands and has an interest in the building trade. The Carpenter Apprentice will learn about the entire process of carpentry from start to finish, including framing construction. The ideal candidate must be able to work well on a team as well as independently and have the ability to listen to instructions and follow them in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Use power tools and hand tools to cut and shape wood, metal, and other materials.
- Measure building materials to gauge the amount needed for an order and the purpose of the order.
- Prepare estimates of costs to complete construction projects.
- Receive directions from carpenters, supervisors, and other workers.
- Know how to use hand tools including hammers, drills, saws, and screwdrivers.
- Be able to follow written instruction manuals.
- Know how to read blueprints and diagrams.
