Job Description:
Westchester Drone Ops LLC, in partnership with Flying Lion, is seeking experienced and dedicated independent contractors for the role of Drone as First Responder (DFR) Rooftop Operators. In this critical role, you will support public safety operations by providing aerial assistance to law enforcement. We are looking for candidates with strong drone experience, professionalism, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate closely with law enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordination: Collaborate directly with teleoperators to ensure effective communication and coordination during operations
- Maintenance and Inspections: Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections of drone equipment to ensure it is in optimal condition.
- Remote Pilot In Command (RPIC): Assume responsibility as RPIC, including launching, landing, and changing drone batteries during operations.
- Safety and Control: Maintain visual observation, connectivity, and overall safety of flight operations, and take manual control of the drone in emergencies.
- Troubleshooting: Address and resolve technical issues that arise during operations, including communication with hardware and software providers.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- FAA Part 107 Certificate and proof of most recent FAA Part 107 Recurrent Exam.
- Clean background check required.
- Minimum of 10 logged flight hours (any platform).
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with law enforcement.
- Proficiency in English, both verbally and through 2-way radio or cellular phone.
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and climb ladders/stairs to access rooftops.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues promptly.
