Princess Cruises – We are currently searching for highly motivated Graduate, MBAs and Undergraduate students to join dynamic Retail & Photo/Video Operations department. Selected interns will work on departmental projects as well as participate in professional development and enrichment activities.

Holland America Group operates a combined total of 41 cruise ships with 36,000 employees worldwide. The Internship Program will be located in our Santa Clarita office.

DATES

The program runs 10 weeks from June 10th - August 16th OR June 17th - August 23rd (Please note, END dates can be extended depending on department needs and students availability.)
ELIGIBILITY

Must be currently enrolled as an under graduate (junior standing or above) or graduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher (will require transcripts) in a four year accredited College/University.
MUST NOT be a graduating senior in the summer.
Students under OPT and CPT status will not be considered at this time.

PROJECT(S):
Retail – This project will help develop the Retail process and procedures. You will be assisting in revising the Policies & Procedures in addition to creating content in Mobile Standard Procedures Manager (MSPM). You will gather information from the teams and update existing or create new documents. Focus on the new 7 Seas program and organizational changes
Retail – In this project you will be developing and testing in-store port tee visual merchandising displays, partner with buying, planning, visual, and ops to source and introduce to PCL fleet. You will also partner with buying & planning to organize and analyze Alaska 2019 sales. Then apply these learnings for new 2020 assortment concepts and assist merchandise planners with forecasting 2020 reorders and logistics.
Retail Operations – This project will take you through the buying process from start to finish. You will learn about product selection, margin, sell thru, & placing initial set up orders. It will teach you organizational skills to keep on top of purchase order deadlines and ensure product boards on time. You will also learn the creative side of buying which entails you working with the visual planner to select a space to display the product and what collateral, fixtures and marketing is needed for the presentation. This project will also oversee curated product launch with Prive Revaux, track PO’s to ensure timely launch for August’19, work with Marketing to schedule the Influencer event, create Merchandise Directives for Products and Influencer Events.
Retail Operations – This project is intended to learn Travel Retail and logistical needs, Buying & Planning process, corporate operations and culture, Supply Chain, organization, ability to work with multiple groups within the corporate environment. You will assist with building the 2020 logistic schedule for Retail Services, including: the logistics for the launch of the Sky and Enchanted Princess and the freight logistics for the decommission of the Golden Princess. 2020 Logistics schedules for the Princess fleet, both air, land and ocean for our Buying/Planning teams and current freight forwarders.
Retail Photo Video Operations (MBA student) – This project collaborates with many other departments on a project during its beginning stages – with many opportunities to influence the future of the business. You will have the opportunity to work with several different types of data – sales, customer insights, and financial. Under the direction of the Photo Operations Manager, you will work on developing best-practices and brand guidelines for future Fuji Wonder Shop builds. There are four stages of this project: Customer Feedback, Market Trends, Content Curation and Delivery, Brand Standards.

REQUIREMENTS:
Well organized and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and managers.
Will be responsible to find your own lodging and must be willing to find reliable transportation to Santa Clarita. (Note: This is a suburb of Los Angeles. Public transportation is available but is limited.)
Must be authorized to work for all employers in the US.

COMPENSATION:
Paid hourly; $18.00/hr. Undergraduate Students and $30.00/hr. Graduate Students.

(May include but not limited to): Business Administration, Merchandising, Marketing, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, HR, HR Org Development, Communications: Public Relations, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Finance, International Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Statistics and MBA’s.
SKILLS PREFERRED

Advance proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, especially MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access and Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications a plus.
Experience with procurement analytics, research, excellent communication skills and attention to Detail, savvy with new computer systems, ability to quickly learn new things, team player, self-motivate.
Depending on type of position, other specific programs may be required.
