Full Job Description

The ideal candidate will be able to communicate complicated, technical issues in a manner that is understandable and useful for all stakeholders. The candidate must be proactive, organized, responsible, and work well with a fast-paced group.

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

Participate in agile design sessions where requirements are derived
Extract requirements from documentation
Review requirements with Peers, Test Manager, and Business Analyst
Derive test cases from business requirements and technical specs
Analyze test requirements using proven test techniques
Provide estimates for completing test cases and execution
Assist in preparing or acquiring data for test cases
Maintain Test Data as test requirements change
Execute all test cases within agreed upon times
Ensure test status results are properly documented and tracked and software defects are reported clearly
Assist the Project Manager and Business Analyst in following outlined Testing and Project methodologies including obtaining timely and appropriate sign off on test cases and results
Assist in maintaining a repository of regression test cases

Education and Experience

Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields, Master’s Degree is a plus
At least 5 years’ experience in the industry

Knowledge:
Processes: SDLC (strong functional knowledge of agile development methodology)
Testing Methodologies
ITIL process awareness is a plus
Technologies: IT systems, Database design, Data Structures
Involved on both sides of the release: Responsible for assisting prod support and overseeing any bugs that get into production
Fluid involvement to speed up investigations: Resource fluidly involved from pre-prod into prod ensures a seamless knowledgebase to leverage for support
Allows trend analysis and preventing issues: Being closely familiar with the trends in issues introduced into production can ensure that processes are adjusted during QA to prevent reoccurrence
Eases processes and redirects for simpler collaboration with partners: The role would be accountable to both direct and enforce processes with partners and suggest process improvements
Moving the signoff beyond acceptance criteria only and broadening to consider the business expectation and any other factors in a spec
Involved through the entire process, they can apply additional business insight and context during testing and before signoff
Consolidating duties such as test account setup elsewhere to allocate time to focus on the user experience testing and more holistic testing
Ensure that the Vitality Group work fits into the broader external picture and meets UX expectations, they’ll bring have in-depth product and business knowledge as an input to their testing and signoff
The role is collaborative with the client and UAT teams focused on business, technology, and product knowledge as well as end-to-end involvement to understand the ask early and incorporate the context into testing
Participate in the SDCL earlier and broadly across multiple functions to develop in-depth business, technical, and product details
