Position Description
The accounting representative will spend the majority of their time answering customer phone calls and emails that relate to billing and payments, working with customers on payment adjustments, and helping with resolving payment-related issues in the payment system. This position requires problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail. A person who fits this position should enjoy facing challenges and unknown circumstances that require investigation, collaboration, and troubleshooting. Since the volume of customer requests varies during different times of the year, the person filling this position will be able to grow in their role and have the opportunity to use and develop skills when working on various tasks and projects that are needed to help the team.

Salary & Hours
While the compensation for this position depends on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, the approximate hourly pay range is $17 to $20. We are looking for a full-time individual.

Job Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming emails and chats about upcoming, overdue, and prior payments as well as explain the data related to the payment
- Take incoming customer calls throughout the day and answer parent questions about the account
- Create, process, and schedule tuition, enrollment, and add-on payments
- Make outgoing calls to parents to clarify requests or errors on enrollment applications regarding financial matters
- Determine appropriate refunds and approve, process, and refund the amount.
- Keep parents informed on the status of their balance owed when an internal change is made
- Make special adjustments to general ledger based on incoming and internal data
- Assist in ad hoc or recurring audits of past payments
Qualifications
- Comfortable talking on the phone to customers
- Good phone presence and customer service skills
- Able to remain calm and composed in difficult situations and escalate appropriately
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good listener (able to understand customer needs and wants)
- Detail-oriented
- Organized and consistent
- Ability to manage time well to meet deadlines and move projects forward
- A desire and ability to continuously improve processes
- Experience with Salesforce (or similar) CRM recommended
