We are currently looking for a Service Technician to join our BioPharm/Pyropure team. This position will promote customer satisfaction after the sale through direct contact with our customers to fulfill their service requirements. Work with our Sales/Service Departments and customers to promote future equipment, parts, and service sales. Work under limited supervision of Service Manager to perform duties. Works on the production line when not traveling.
Essential Job Functions
Provide worldwide onsite technical assistance for BioPharm/Pure Water Products which include new machine site acceptance testing and start-up commissioning/training, service contracts, warranty, and billable work.
Promote sales of new equipment, parts, and service by gathering pertinent information on customer’s needs and projects and reporting information to the Sales and Service Departments.
Report daily service contact and activities with customers via service reports, e-mails, and telecommunications to the Service Manager.
Report daily job related expense activities to the Service Manager as required and per company policies.
Assist the Service Manager while in the office with customer assistance and other duties when asked.
Perform Pre-FAT’s and FAT’s (Factory Acceptance Tests) and assist the production line in assembly and production of machines and electronics while not traveling to complete field services.
Responsible for making travel arrangements (rental car, airfare and hotel accommodations), utilizing the company’s assigned travel agency and per company policies, with little to no supervision.
Perform site evaluations of equipment for customer and/or business unit.
Maintain service tool boxes and calibrated diagnostic tools
Maintain company provided cell phone and laptop computer and abide by company internet policies.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Working experience with PLC’s (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell very beneficial).
Several years’ experience in personal computers and Microsoft software.
Must be able to travel worldwide 75% of the time.
Must be familiar with hand tools (pliers, screw drivers, read a tape measure, operate handheld drills).
Two years’ experience of general mechanical knowledge.
Be able to work alone and make good judgment decisions independently on sites.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
2 year technical school degree is a plus
Two-five years’ experience in customer relations and have good communications skills, both verbal and written.
Three-five years’ experience in electrical and mechanical theory and diagnosis.
