Accounting Manager (Controller)

Job Function:
The basic function of the Controller is to plan, organize, and complete the day-to-day financial operations of the Company and related entities while providing financial analytical support to the management team.

Coordinate the selection and set-up of accounting software
Establish and maintain controls to ensure the accuracy and security of information and finances
Ensure accurate and timely financial recording and reporting
Prepare daily invoicing and work-in-process updates and reporting
Complete the receipt, coding, and tracking of vendor invoices
Prepare payments to vendors
Monitor and update the collection of accounts receivable and other cash receipts
Ensure correct recording of employee expenses
Process purchase orders
Complete month and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account analysis, fixed assets confirmation, trial balances and profit and loss statement creation
Complete all tax reporting for preparers and with annual filings
Ensure the timely payment of sales and use tax
Work with outside auditors and tax service providers to assist with the annual reporting process
Oversee and complete cash reporting and bank account reconciliations
Track capital expenditures and lease obligations
Accounting and recording of fixed assets and leases
Understand the obligations of credit facilities to ensure compliance
Monitor and estimate daily cash requirements
Payroll and assist in overseeing vendor PEO relationship as it relates to payroll
Provide estimate, budget, project and profitability analysis including ad hoc reporting
Provide support on special projects and interim support to the Management Team as required

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline
Minimum of 5-8 years of related experience
CPA or other similar designation is a plus but not required
Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the related fields
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to supervise other individuals and/or 3rd party resources in this area
Ability to work with highly confidential information
Effective interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Peachtree, Sage Works or similar software
Understanding of service business and/or technology industry is preferred
