About the Position:

The Network Engineering Manager serves as the lead for the networking organization responsible for network design, deployment and operation. This person is a key contributor for supporting day-to-day networking processes; this would include creating firewall policies and performing switch port activation. They participate in operational monitoring as well as the configuration and administration of network systems. The Senior Network Engineer works closely with all members of the IT Team. A strong working knowledge of storage, operating systems, and application deployment is needed. They will serve as the senior member of the technical team and will mentor junior team members. This position provides opportunities to contribute to the engineering of new systems and re-engineering of old ones.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide team leadership to the Network team
  • Meet regularly with the IT and Network Manager to go over team activities
  • Primary responsibility to develop, implement and maintain network infrastructure to support a high availability video solution and associated business systems

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years network engineering background
  • 5+ years Network team management
  • 5+ years of experience Cisco network experience
  • Interpersonal skills and experience in presenting
  • Problem solving and project management experience
  • Team working skills
  • Excellent knowledge of SIP technology
  • Excellent knowledge of appropriate network technologies and network applications such as TCP/IP, LAN/WAN setup, routing protocols e.g. BGP, wireless designs, and routing
  • Excellent knowledge of packet sniffing tools and analyzing traffic flow down to the port level
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of a range of networking software and hardware systems Knowledge of computer/network systems infrastructure requirements and standards
  • Knowledge of computer security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques
  • Excellent server knowledge, either Windows or Linux
  • Cisco Certified – CCNP or CCSP required, excellent knowledge of Cisco routers, switches and firewalls

  • Video Conferencing MCU design and administration
  • Telecommunications equipment support, Asterisk, Digium, etc
  • Cisco Call Manager, PBX design and administration
  • Knowledge of Windows AD environments (Exchange, KMS, backups, etc.)
  • Linux or Windows server knowledge
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language or Deaf Culture a plus

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a business office environment.
  • Position may require travel to Sacramento facility for onsite server maintenance and infrequent travel to the east coast to support east coast administration.
  • On-call support as needed
