Description

Individual contributor responsible for merchandising and buying multiple product categories for international franchise partners and directly supporting merchandising members to develop product plans for franchise partners supporting brand strategies and maintaining unique regional needs. Researches customer trends and product history. Partners with in-territory LSI team members to compile regional competitive intelligence and fashion trends. Participates in the patterning process. Analyzes sales trends and country distortions. Manages product development of any international only products, collaborating with production team on delivery, vendor issues, calendar and costing strategies. Works under general direction and handles issues of moderate complexity.

• Incorporates competitive intelligence, customer intimacy, fashion radar, regional needs and business analysis to achieve volume and profit goals
• May assume full responsibility for merchandise category to deliver or exceed volume and profit goals
• May assist with various special projects
• Responsible for LSI meeting set up and sample management
BUILDS REVENUE
• Understands the Brand target customer by tracking and experiencing customer attitude and lifestyle and selecting product that appeals to the customer's taste, by region.
• Works with the Merchant to understand the competition through patterning activities that require shopping and conducting regular scans of benchmark competitors to identify opportunities and challenges for in-season business and future season line planning
• Partners with Merchant and Merchandise Planning and Allocation to ensure seasonal line plan utilizes historical performance and current business data
• Presents seasonal brand strategies to internal LSI teams and, at times, to franchise partners.
• Manages in-season business by tracking and analyzing sales information in order to identify opportunities to increase sales and maximize inventories.

BUILDS ORGANIZATIONAL CAPABILITY
• Works together with LSI Country Planners and Heads of Region to select key items and develop a seasonal plan that utilizes historical performance and current business data
• Collaborates with Production and Sourcing on vendor resource, calendar, and costing strategies to facilitate production planning
• Executes all product buys in collaboration with LSI Country Planners and Allocation, through accurate maintenance of line assortment tools.
• Functions as communication link between LSI merchandising and Brand merchandising
• Acts as a customer representative to report on quality, fit and construction issues to Production and Sourcing
• Works with Merchandising team to ensure that a cohesive viewpoint transcends departmental lines
• Contributes to Merchandise Process Redesign objectives by continually enhancing strong partnerships with LSI Country Planners and Allocation, Heads of Region, Store operations, Design, Production and Sourcing and Marketing.
• Shares customer and market perspective with Design and stays current on fashion trends
• Provides Marketing, Visual Merchandising and Stores with product knowledge and serves as an informational resource

Qualifications

• At least 4 years merchandising experience
• Strong understanding of vertically integrated retail operations
• Successful track record for high volume business growth and bottom line results
• Broad-based business acumen with the potential to grow to the Merchant level
• High intelligence with a true entrepreneurial risk mentality, strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
• Acute sense of brand and customer intimacy
• Acute fashion sense with proven talent to envision and interpret fashion trends
• Achievement oriented with solid management experience and demonstrated leadership potential

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
