We are looking to add an energetic, experienced Temporary PT Desktop Researcher for 30 hours/week for approximately 3 months in Washington DC. You’ll be joining a team that embodies a culture to deliver, grow and thrive.

About the Role: You will work independently and as part of a team to conduct desktop research and provide project support for a Federal Government client researching available broadband services around the country. As a desktop researcher, you will collect data from publicly available sources and evaluate information submitted in applications for a federally funded rural broadband grant and loan program.
Your responsibilities will include to:
Adhere to established procedures to:
Review and collect data, including third party publicly available broadband speed test data, information submitted as part of applications, and information submitted from the public;
Record data and findings
Synthesize data and findings to create reports.
Conduct outreach to public and private entities, including cold calling to:
Provide notice of upcoming field research in an area;
Perform interviews to collect and confirm submitted information; and,
Schedule in-person interviews to be carried out by a field team member at a later date.
Document all information collected through cold calls.
Review all documented information for completeness and accuracy.
Assist in the compiling of all collected information and data into a final report, including both qualitative and quantitative summaries.
This position is typically part of a team at the client-site and corporate office in metro-accessible Washington, DC, but is currently remote due to coronavirus safety precautions.
Strong research and analytical capabilities with experience entering and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Comfortable speaking on the phone in a professional setting
Strong attention to detail and ability to enter data accurately
Ability to work independently and take tasks from concept to delivery
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment by communicating effectively
Ability to learn quickly, problem-solve, and work with all types of personalities
Ability to work quickly under tight timelines to execute tasks
Demonstrate a positive and flexible attitude
US citizenship or permanent resident and the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability
Experience conducting research
Experience with Microsoft Office
Experience with stakeholder engagement
Broadband program support experience a plus
