Information Protection Technologies' mission is to provide a common and reusable suite of authentication, encryption services, and methodologies to internal partners and external Wells Fargo customers. This suite is secure, cost effective, easy to use, and is centrally coordinated.
The candidate selected for this opportunity will be responsible for working with the IPT leadership team, various engineering teams, and the architecture communities across Wells Fargo to define specific strategies to design, develop, and implement data protection tools and technologies that align with IPTs mission. The candidate will also ensure that the selected strategies are compliant with current and planned enterprise standards, and are extensible to accommodate future needs with minimal re-engineering.
The candidate will be a technical expert, innovator, and strategic thought leader within the data protection engineering discipline. The candidate will assume a position that will be regarded across the Wells Fargo enterprise as the highest level technical expert in the identified area of expertise with responsibility for developing standards and enterprise-wide best practices. The candidate will be responsible for engineering complex, large-scale technology solutions to address highly complex and typically cross-organizational issues, while maintaining broad knowledge of other technology engineering disciplines and partnering with other key experts to ensure we are making the right technology choices for Wells Fargo.
The position will require the candidate to translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions.
In addition, the position will:
Act as an expert resource for architects in the development of target architectures to ensure that they can be properly designed and implemented through sound engineering practices.
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization.
Provide expert counsel to senior technology leadership and advises and mentors others with the goal of knowledge transfer.
May represent Wells Fargo to external industry groups, influencing industry standards.
Proven ability to innovate new technology strategies and successfully implement strategic vision.

10+ years of information security applications and systems experience
3+ years of digital certificate management experience
3+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
4+ years of experience with business transformation and change strategy execution
5+ years of experience implementing or managing cryptographic products or services
Expert knowledge and understanding of information security practices and policies, including Information Security Frameworks, Standards, and best practices
Ability to manage highly complex issues and negotiate solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization; including at the executive level
Knowledge and understanding of financial services industry
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
A BS/BA degree or higher in engineering
Ability to identify and manage complex issues and negotiate solutions within a geographically dispersed organization
Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management
