HII-Mission Driven Innovative Solutions, Inc. (HII-MDIS)provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

HII-MDIS is currently seeking qualified candidates to support an upcoming anticipated contract. We are seeking to build a cadre of experienced and interested personnel to fulfil contract obligations upon award. HII-MDIS requests only applicants that meet job requisition requirements apply. HII-MDIS is currently seeking Editors to work in the Washington Metro Area (WMA).

The Editor shall provide personnel to ensure that all products are grammatically correct according to idiomatic American English and meet designated style standards according to guides like the Operations and Style Guide and individual lexicons maintained by different issue areas. The Editor shall apply substantive and linguistic knowledge of the target issue areas when editing customer products. The Editor shall adhere to copyediting principles when handling open source material. The Editor must understand and follow the details of customer collection, selection, production, dissemination, and operations. Editors must communicate effectively with contractor personnel in person and electronically to include onsite and dispersed personnel.

In addition, the responsibilities also entail the following:
Editors shall adhere to quality standards according to a designated style guide like the Operations and Style Guide as well as develop and maintain a language services quality control and quality assurance program.

The Editor shall help strive for translation accuracy, editorial quality, and quality control to meet the expectation of fewer than 10 percent translation errors and fewer than 10 percent editorial and content management errors. (The customer strives for 100 percent accuracy and zero errors.)

The Editor shall continuously monitor the accuracy and completeness of the translated products by systematically selecting jobs from all personnel for review.

The Editor shall utilize an assurance methodology to ensure that the customer's quality standards are met or exceeded. The quality effort shall include mechanisms for receiving and integrating feedback from the customer on regularly scheduled, ad hoc, and urgent/immediate bases.

BA/BS Degree with either/or Foreign Affairs, Language, History, Economics, Journalism concentration

Must be US Citizen

One year editing experience.

Preferred Skills:
Experience in the Intelligence Community

Experience with multiple IC organizations
