The Business Analyst would act as the point person between the finance change team, project stakeholders and the application development team(s) during all phases of the program management life cycle: initiation phase, requirement phase, design and build phase, testing phase, and implementation phase.
The Business Analyst would be responsible for collecting and documenting business requirements and for performing a gap analysis between current state and future state requirements as well as identifying and assessing change needs. The Business Analyst captures and documents requirements, analyzes the impact of changes and supports the business throughout the implementation process.
The Business Analyst would also assist in the implementation phase by ensuring the delivery of training documents, operating procedures, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements in partnership and collaboration with project/program stakeholders (i.e. SMEs, End Users, Sponsors.)
Responsible for performing current state v. future state gap analysis and effectively documenting data/system flows for both processes.
Create and deliver relevant project artefacts supporting the end deliverable. This include but not limited to: Project Initiation Document (PID/Project Charter), Business Requirements Document (BRD), Functional Specification Document (FSD), Traceability Matrix (Problem/ Regulations, BRD, FSD, Test Case), Testing Strategy, User Acceptance Testing - Test Cases.
Responsible for conducting walkthroughs, demos in person or virtually with the stakeholders to obtain approvals and sign-offs of all project artefacts.
Perform data analysis and reconciliation to support business case/requirements as required.
Raises risks, issues, assumptions and key dependencies to Lead Business Analyst and/or Project Manager.
Supports and coordinates UAT, defining testing requirements, drafting test cases and setting up testing tools/systems together with the QA and Testing Team as well as the clients.
Coordinates with the Finance Change team in drafting of Key Operating Procedures ("KOP") for the new business processes prior to implementation.
Liaises with program / project managers, clients, functional analysts and developers to ensure solution design and implementation is aligned with the business requirements.
Coordinates the drafting of Service Level Agreement and Technical Training Documentation with the IGT solution provider team.
10+ years of relevant experience including experience as Business Analyst working on projects/programs for the Regulatory Reporting team within Finance/Accounting division of a large financial institution.
Detailed knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements mainly for Bank Holding Company (FRY-9C, Call Report, FRY-9LP, TIC Reports, etc...) in terms of report description, detailed schedules, and data attribute requirements, frequency, etc.
Experience with USGAAP/IFRS consolidated and standalone financial regulatory reporting requirements (Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, etc...).
Exposure to financial consolidation processes and concepts is needed: Equity Method, Purchase method, inter/intra-company elimination, Equity Pick-Up, Minority Interest, COI Posting method, Elimination of Cost Investments.
Understanding of Dodd-Frank Enhanced Prudential Standards (section 165), CCAR, and Basel III is required to manage interdependencies of the ADBS program vs. CCAR & Basel III program.
Experiences across a range of financial products (Fixed Income, Equity, Derivatives, etc...)
Exposure to Accounting General Ledger Systems like PeopleSoft General Ledger or SAP General Ledger and exposure to consolidation modules of these systems or other consolidation systems.
Exposure to Reporting tools like Business Objects, Qlikview, Cognos, and/or MicroStrategy.
Exposure to Regulatory Reporting Tools like AxiomSL would be a great plus.
Business Analyst Skills :
Experience writing Current State Analysis Document, Current to Future State Gap Analysis Document, Business Requirement Document and in participating in the drafting of Functional Specification Document is required.
Knowledge of the SDLC/PMLC methodology, processes, and best practices is critical.
Experience working in decentralized global projects with virtual teams within matrix organization.
Experience drafting Test Strategy Document, Test Cases, and Test Plan is necessary.
Exposure to Change, Testing & Quality Management systems like HP Quality Center, ALM, JIRA and Business Process Mapping tools like Visio or Sparx is needed.
Experience in Business Analysis and Banking/ Financial Services Technology delivery
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Excellent soft skills and demonstrated team player attitude.
Ability to chair working group and stakeholder meetings.
Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Business, Economics and/ or Computer Science (or equivalent Business Analysis certification and/or relevant work experience).
Certifications like CPA, CFA, and Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) are a plus.
