Overview: Consulting Accessibility Specialist
The ScribeConcepts Accessibility Specialist will serve as a key advisor for both clients and internal ScribeConcepts stakeholders on Accessibility strategy and requirements needed to achieve project goals.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Advise client and ScribeConcepts stakeholders on requirements needed to meet accessibility standards per project needs in order to inform workflow/project strategy.
- Develop resources for content, editorial, and visual design teams to achieve project goals as relates to accessibility requirements.
- Advise, summarize, and document rationale for recommendations and approach to reach accessibility compliance (via remediation or new development).
- Collaborate with content, editorial, and visual design teams to educate on accessibility best practices through guidance, consulting, and training.
- Draft and maintain accessibility compliance framework across projects and teams.
- Advise leadership team on accessibility best practices to maintain quality, efficiency, and stay on top of industry demands.
- Serve as accessibility expert for various compliance standards in the K-12 educational curriculum publishing industry.
- Remain knowledgeable and informed of new and emerging accessibility guidelines as they develop.
Qualifications
Required:
- Expert knowledge of WCAG and NIMAC standards and accessibility requirements, specifically in the K-12 educational curriculum industry.
- Expertise with accessibility and assistive technology testing tools (screen readers, color contrast checkers, braille readers, etc.).
- Substantial experience writing and developing accessibility recommendations.
- Strong knowledge and experience auditing existing products for accessibility needs.
- Strong knowledge of inclusive design principles.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to expertly provide feedback in a considerate manner.
- Ability to develop precise and explicit documentation and guidelines.
- Capable of successfully managing/advising on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
Preferred:
- W3 Accessibility Certified.
- Experience providing accessibility trainings.
