Job Title: Shipping/Receiving/Admin Operator

Pay Rate: $19.00/hour starting

Reports to: Area Leader

Shipping/Receiving/Vault Personnel must be knowledgeable and have expertise in the shipping and tracking processes, including custom compliance documentation. The incumbent needs to have experience as it relates to inventory control, identification of metals, and be familiar with quality specifications. An understanding of the manufacturing and fabrication process is critical to maintaining control of the precious metal and the ability to ship the correct item to the customer in a timely manner. Personnel must have excellent planning skills in order to anticipate shipping needs in a timely fashion to support the customers’ processes. Communication with freight forwarders and carriers is critical to ensure timely shipments and receipts. Personnel must be security conscious as it relates to the policies outlined by the GlassMetal Services management team and Corporate Security for both external transportation and internal movement within the plant. Due to the nature of the material, safety has to be an expected practice. The incumbents must have excellent communication, people management, coaching, and counseling skills to foster and promote a safe and productive work team.


Adhere to all OC and Plant specific requirements when properly handling, moving and storing metal
Participate on safety teams
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Recognize, report and correct safety hazards upon identification

Manage flow of metal to and from multiple production areas
Prepare refining metal for shipment
Collect recovery drums for shipment. Prepare shipping documents
Receive parts from outside vendors for further use in fabrication (through GSS, SAP & GAT)
Ensure nothing leaves or enters the vault without paperwork
Metal conversions both internally and for purchased alloy parts
Prepare items for shipment and determine method of shipment
Computer transactions (GAT, SAP and other OC systems)
Prepare all necessary documentation for outgoing domestic and international shipments
Scrap parts through computer and prepare rework documentation
Prepares all necessary documents needed for export broker/freight forwarder

Compares identifying parts counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Requests corrected documents from shipper if necessary.
Unpack and verify incoming/outgoing shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Routing items to appropriate departments.
Main Responsibilities

Participate in metals monthly inventory (on Saturday)
Complete daily morning inventory weighs
Prepare fabrication and PAW kits for issue to sites
Assist sites with inventory issues
Schedules carriers for shipments
Operate Forklift Truck and Hand Truck
Communicates potential issues related to OTD
Notify appropriate personnel when time to re-order thermocouple wire and TC tubes
Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
Participate in production meetings
Identify and segregate out of specification metal
Regular Attendance

All other duties as assigned or needed
